Mineral Resources (Industrial Minerals and Rocks) in Spain - INSPIRE harmonized for Minerals4EU project
Dataset contains information related to the mining operations (both abandoned or operating continuously or intermittently) and minerals occurrences of industrial minerals and rocks. These data have been generated by the IGME along numerous projects since the early 70s to the present. It has national coverage.

The data are publicly available for on-line consultation about mining operations and minerals occurrences of industrial minerals and rocks. These consultations were previously face-to-face and required the use of a photocopy of the original tabs in paper. In addition, the updated content in the database data is used to develop projects related to the topic, as the "Map of Industrial Minerals and Rocks of Asturias" (2012), the "Mapping of Mineral Resources of Andalusia" (2011 ) or the "Map of Industrial Minerals and Rocks of Asturoccidental-Leonesa Zone (ZAOL)" (2011). Another purpose of this database is to create knowledge infrastructure as well as constituting a platform for scientific-technical advising within the field of industrial rocks and minerals

Most outstanding activities carried out to achieve the BDMIN Database were, first, the technical design of the database, taking into account the information collected in the fieldwork from each of the stations (quarries or occurrences); then compiling, processing, debbuging or digitization of information, both from mapping as well as complementary one about industrial minerals and rocks, was made.
This information is contained in old industrial minerals and rocks field records and databases. The data is completed and updated with the information generated by projects and activities related to the subject in subsequent proceedings.
